Blogging Buddies

Pink and Yellow Mouths by Betty BowerWorking at the computer lab at American River College had been an enjoyable experience!

I've been able to meet wonderful people like Betty. It was a joy to tutor her during her Dreamweaver class. At first she was super discouraged. Now she is a blogger!

Betty volunteers her time at Wildlife Care Facility on the Mc CLellan Air Force Base. She cares for little hatch lings like these in the picture.

Bernadette GrimesAnother blogging buddy is Bernadette. A very talented woman I must add.

She is another student that has frequented the computer lab. Boy can she mess up a web page! Bernadette has learned from her mistakes and is now the proud owner of CD Proof. Here is an excerpt from her blog.

"Taking pictures for insurance inventories can be invaluable when making insurance claims. Visual aids not only prove to the insurance company that the item claimed was owned, but they can also help jog the owners memory after the trauma of a fire, flood, earthquake or robbery. Without proof of ownership, insurance companies usually won’t replace items or cut you a check to cover the costs of replacing them."

Smokey

Live Map of California Wildfires
The air quality herein Sacramento is very bad. Yesterday, while driving, the has was so thick it looked like fog. All over my car is a thin layer of white ash making it especial difficult to see out the front windshield. Click the map should take you to a live update on how many fires are burning.

I'm thankful for our firefighters!

Mural Mania

Peter Cooper Village Apartment

New York, New York: Lenny Weiner, a retired steamfitter, reads quietly in his wildly decorated Peter Cooper Village apartment. What had been a typical downtown space has been transformed by Weiner into a kaleidoscope of chandeliers, living vines, murals, and rhinestone-studded walls.

I like this. This would be a great place to study. With the sound of gentle water and a nature cd playing for additional ambiance. . . . mmmmm

I used to paint murals for a living.

My Meez!

My Meez!

My daughter Misha turned me on to this Meez thing.

Gas prices

Please help the struggling single parent
Increasing gas prices have made life difficult!!!

The other day, I looked over and saw this plea for help. Underneath the blackboard is a bag of groceries. I checked!

This distant neighbor drives a Lincoln Aviator and has two young boys. Her face never smiles. Here is one more reason why. Not enough money for food.

Check out this web site for updates.

Graduated . . Now what?

Well . . . I finally graduated with an AS in Information Security. Also certification in Web Design with an emphasis in Graphic Arts. Recently one of my better pieces of art was chosen for the "Hall of Fame" by the Computer Information Science department. They are selecting art from the best students in order to promote their classes.

Good Neighbors

The best neighbor anyone could ever have!
Good neighbors are hard to come by. I am sooo thankful for Milisa. She loves plants and people. Just yesterday when I came home from work there were two people waiting for her to get home. She had left to run an errand with another of her blessed friends.
